Steam powered via eternal arcane fire with eternal water to cool down leading to steam as a byproduct. Covers their exoskeleton-pipes by wearing a poncho, and half a coat. Their poncho is able to open from the middle out to allow venting through their pipes and engine in the center of their chest, a lot of these pipes being external and if experiencing a stronger emotion, can become red hot. They have a hat on that they 100% yoinked from Rosa. Also has scarves / belts on their waist including a wrap around scarf they thought looked cool but doesn't really wear a lot else since it's just impractical. Has a single eye that can slide back and forth based on the angle their head is at, but usually stays on the left.
Built as a means to intimidate thieves and other similar problems away from their creator Rosa Smithin while the two traveled around, Roughhouse was made practically as a living security system, taught that what they protected (usually robots Rosa made) was most valuable for the potential for fame and fortune. Of course, this backfired and Rough ended up getting tired of waiting around for intruders, robbers, and the like, believing they weren't living up to the potential they had, and decided to leave on impulse, as if they could achieve more if they weren't weighed down by their built purpose. They get angry easily, likely as a side effect of the manner in which they were brought into sentience, mirroring the impatience and overall ambition of their creator.
Albeit their denouncing the ways of their previous life in favor of carving out their own path, what they were taught and essentially raised on remains serving as their moral code. They take pride in their intimidating aura rather than relinquish it, paralleling their creator in the want to have their name known at every town they stopped, through any means possible. Their main motivator above all is surpassing their creator in terms of success, whether that success comes from fame or infamy. The way they see it, the world is their oyster, and will stand by this until their last step when they break down into a pile of smoldering iron.
Roughhouse previously traveled seeking glory, picking up any and all side hustles in a way to make a name for themself, joining whatever groups and gangs that would accept them until getting kicked out within a few days (usually because of "coincidental fires", and "blacking out, blabbering about some name, and killing everyone" and the like) and repeating the cycle. After they got hired into the gang by the leader Victoria Brimstone, they miraculously were able to stick around and grew very close with the gang. Very close especially with Corbin as the two go around robberizing people pairing the intelligence of the wizard with their own brute strength, with notably the two robbing a train previously.
Their main ideal is freedom, usually in the broadest sense of what suits their own wants, sourcing their rage from what prevents them from achieving this. Whether they want to be feared, or just experience what it feels like to do the first thing that forms in their mind, Rough will tear down anything in the path that prevents them from reaching the end. They don't know what money is and believe how shiny something is what determines it's monetary worth.
